Mya Piccione is a director, producer, and theatre-maker based in New York City. She is a storyteller that sees theatre as a reflection of society — a way to cope with, understand, and challenge the world around us. Through her career, Mya has been fortunate enough to work with a number of fantastic regional and non-profit theatres — a few notable favorites being Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival, and Pocket Theatre Virtual Reality. At these institutions, Mya has gained a wide range of experience working on new works and reimagined classics, including the pre-Broadway debut of THE NOTEBOOK, and THE GORGEOUS NOTHINGS. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of the pre-pandemic non-profit Meraki Community Theatre, where she wrote and produced a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s ROMEO & JULIET. Other favorite credits include her adaptation of the 15th century morality play THE SUMMONING OF EVERYMAN, THE REVOLUTIONISTS by Lauren Gunderson, and INCOGNITO by Janet Allard.
